Job Title: RQ00694 – Senior Technical Writer

Duration: 2026-07-20 – 2027-07-19

Working Status: Hybrid: Up to 5 days onsite (subject to HM’s discretion)

Location: 525 University Avenue, Toronto

 

Manager Notes Must Haves:

Public Sector Experience
A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in development of high-quality technical project documents.
Demonstrated ability to capture complex technical input from architects and developers and translate it into clear, structured, and user-friendly documentation for a technical audience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and stakeholders.

 

Description

The Technical Writer will create professional technical project documentation, including the development of project documents incorporating business and technical information provided by subject matter experts.

 

Responsibilities:

Translate complex technical requirements into clear, structured, and professionally written project documents
Collaborate closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather domain knowledge and technical content
Synthesize SME input into comprehensive, project documentation
Ensure documentation accurately reflects business needs and evaluation criteria
Drive accuracy, completeness, and quality of project documents
Ensure timely and efficient completion of project documentation
Contribute to advancing organizational digital transformation objectives

Experience with a wide range of technical writing methods, tools and techniques and knowledge of industry standards and best practices
Proficiency with standard documentation and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, SharePoint)
Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards
