About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Programmer / Software Developer to join our team on a 1-year onsite contract in Petawawa, Ontario. This role involves leading the design, development, and maintenance of both web and mobile applications, with a technical focus on Oracle APEX, JavaScript, and Kotlin.
You’ll play a key role in coordinating with stakeholders, mentoring developers, and supporting agile development practices in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Oracle APEX, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
Develop and support mobile applications for Android devices using Kotlin, ensuring high performance and usability.
Track and monitor project timelines, deliverables, and milestones; provide regular status updates and identify potential risks.
Mentor and support intermediate and junior developers, promoting best practices and effective troubleshooting.
Collaborate with stakeholders, end-users, and business analysts to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and user guides.
Assist in agile development practices: sprint planning, backlog grooming, and continuous process improvement.
Conduct code reviews and enforce software development standards, security practices, and version control workflows.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration across front-end, back-end, and mobile systems.
Stay current on emerging technologies and development methodologies and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

Qualifications
Active Secret Security Clearance (mandatory)
Proven experience with:
Oracle APEX development
JavaScript, HTML, CSS
Kotlin mobile development for Android
Strong project tracking, agile methodology, and team leadership skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination abilities
Ability to mentor and support developers of varying skill levels
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality deliverables
