Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer

Our client is seeking a Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer for a 3-month contract with possible extension. This is hybrid work with 2 days WFH and 3 days onsite per week  at the office located at Griffiths Way, Vancouver BC.

The Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer is focused on providing onsite & remote support on all wired & wireless networking, telephony, & firewall operations for the entire organization. In addition, the resource will assist in the maintenance of our Windows Server infrastructure with the aim of providing a stable environment & maximizing the availability of IT systems.

This position acts as the primary network security & firewall SME, with deep hands-on responsibility for FortiGate, FortiManager, & Sophos firewall platforms. Serving as a technical escalation point & trusted partner for external vendors, the role collaborates closely with other IT Infrastructure team members to lead & support system & network related escalations, requests, & projects.

The ideal candidate must have 7+ years of experience in switching/networking environment on Cisco products; 5+ years managing firewalls with an emphasis on FortiGate & Sophos products; 5+ years VoIP experience; Networking Certifications (CCNA/CCNP preferred); Firewall Management Certifications; WAN/Voice/Security/Remote Access troubleshooting; Extensive knowledge of designing, configuring, installing, & supporting network switches, routers, & network security infrastructure for LAN & WAN implementations; In-depth knowledge of DHCP, DNS, network topologies, protocols, & security components; Experience in key network hardware & associated software (routers, switches, gateways, & firewalls); Knowledge of monitoring, predictive, & proactive procedures; An excellent understanding of Network architecture, planning & design, implementation, problem resolution, maintenance, & upgrades to a wide range of LAN & WAN data network equipment & network infrastructure; including planning & designing of Network Security solutions; Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server environment.; Experience with Microsoft Core Services (AD, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, File & print servers, PowerShell) & Virtualization (VMware & Hyper-V preferred).
