We’re Hiring: Senior Mainframe Developer | Hybrid (Toronto) | Banking Project 🚀
Are you a seasoned Mainframe Developer with a passion for modernizing financial systems? One of Canada’s top-tier banks is embarking on a high-impact FX Payment Modernization project—and we’re looking for a Mainframe expert to join the team!
📍 Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 3 days/week onsite at 2201 Eglinton Ave E, occasional downtown)
⏳ Contract Length: 5 months (with strong extension & full-time potential)
🕘 Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9am–5pm | 37.5 hrs/week
📆 Start Date: September 2025
💡 About the Role:
You’ll be part of the Canadian Banking Technology group, contributing to the end-to-end delivery of a brand-new FX Payments platform. You’ll work in a collaborative Agile lab alongside developers, product owners, and solution architects.
This role is 90% back-end development with a strong focus on COBOL, JCL, and mainframe systems like DB2 and IMS.
✅ What You’ll Bring:
10+ years of experience in mainframe development (COBOL, JCL)
5+ years working with ACF, Endevor, DB2, IMS
Strong communication skills in English (written & verbal)
Experience with large-scale enterprise or banking environments
⭐ Nice to Have:
Financial industry experience
Familiarity with CA7, SAS, CICS
Exposure to Agile methodologies
Experience with Java or Azure (bonus!)
