We’re Hiring: Senior Java SRE/DevOps Engineer | Hybrid – Toronto | 6-Month Contract 🚨
Are you a passionate Java developer with a strong SRE/DevOps mindset? Want to work on mission-critical digital banking applications used by millions of Canadians every day?
We are looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer/DevOps Developer to join our Client Engineering – Mobile and Web team. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of the Bank’s online and mobile platforms.
🧠 What You’ll Do:
✅ Lead production support & incident resolution efforts
✅ Develop and maintain back-end Java (v8+) services
✅ Implement SRE best practices, monitoring, and automation
✅ Manage CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure health
✅ Collaborate with infrastructure, app teams & mentor junior devs
✅ Be part of a pager rotation and support critical systems after-hours as needed
✅ Must-Have Skills:
🔹 8+ years in enterprise development and production support
🔹 4+ years in Java (v8 or higher)
🔹 4+ years in SRE or DevOps roles
🔹 3+ years working in cloud environments (Azure, GCP, or AWS)
🔹 Experience with monitoring, root cause analysis & infrastructure automation
Bonus Points For:
⭐ GCP experience or certifications
⭐ Background in financial services/banking
⭐ Strong communication, leadership, and troubleshooting skills
💼 Contract Details:
📍 Location: Hybrid in Toronto (1 day/week )
⏳ Duration: May – Oct 31, 2025 (high chance of extension)
📅 Schedule: Mon–Fri, 9AM–5PM (37.5 hrs/week + occasional OT)
🛠️ On-call pager rotation required (bimonthly)
