Senior Java Developer with Hadoop Experience
📍 Location: Toronto, ON (Onsite only) 📄 Contract Position

**Roles & Responsibilities:**

– Serve as a Hadoop Administrator with expertise in installing, configuring, and setting up the Hadoop stack on Azure Cloud.
– Proficient in Java backend development for code creation and maintenance.
– Expertise in Hadoop components like HDFS, YARN, MapReduce, Hive, HBase, Spark, and other ecosystem tools.
– Ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability of the Hadoop environment.
– Provision and manage Hadoop clusters in on-premises and Azure cloud environments (AWS or GCP knowledge is a plus).
– Monitor clusters, optimize resources, perform tuning, and conduct regular health checks.
– Handle upgrades, patching, and version control for Hadoop across different environments.
– Support ETL pipelines and data flow processes (nice to have skill).
– Automate cluster management using tools such as Salt, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
– Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases is beneficial.
– Collaborate with DevOps teams utilizing Jenkins CI/CD pipelines; familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker/Kubernetes) is advantageous.
