We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Project Manager to join one of our clients’ teams to support a dynamic government project aimed at modernizing and upgrading critical social service technology.
Role Overview:
The Senior IT Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and delivering key projects focused on enhancing digital public-facing services. This role involves managing the upgrade of an established human services platform and modernizing outdated information systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive project management experience, exceptional relationship-building skills, and a strong understanding of public sector IT initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Project Leadership Team to develop detailed project plans.Produce comprehensive project plans and secure approvals from project sponsors.Ensure that all projects adhere to established standards, processes, and documentation in line with Project Management Institute (PMI) guidelines.Deliver project objectives on time and within budget while meeting specifications.Monitor and report on project performance regarding scope, schedule, cost, and quality.Identify and manage risks associated with project delivery, communicating issues and updates to stakeholders.Facilitate stakeholder workshops and meetings, preparing presentations as needed.Work collaboratively with third-party vendors and partners to integrate their deliverables into the overall project plan.Manage project change requests, negotiating implications with project sponsors.Leverage platforms like ServiceNow and Azure DevOps for workflow automation and project management.Oversee large-scale IT projects, including implementations and cloud integrations, from initiation through completion.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in project management, particularly in the IT sector, with a focus on large-scale implementations.Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.Familiarity with government operations or comparable entities is a plus.Experience with project management methodologies and tools, particularly in an Agile environment.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to risk management.
