Senior Data Science Developer
Hybrid – Toronto, Ontario (3 days onsite)
Contract | $35–$75/hour
Open to Canadian Contractors
We’re looking for a Senior Data Science Developer to help modernize enterprise data platforms and lead the migration of legacy Azure pipelines into scalable, Databricks-based Lakehouse solutions.
If you’re strong in Azure, ADF, Databricks, Python, and SQL, and have hands-on experience building production-grade data pipelines, this could be a great fit.
What You’ll Be Doing
Design and implement cloud-based data & analytics solutions in Azure
Build and maintain modern Lakehouse architectures (medallion model)
Develop automated data pipelines using Azure Data Factory & Databricks
Migrate legacy workloads from Azure Synapse to Databricks (Delta Lake)
Create reusable frameworks to streamline pipeline development
Conduct peer code reviews and support CI/CD best practices
Collaborate with IT and business teams in an Agile environment
Must-Haves
5+ years in Microsoft Azure environments
5+ years building data pipelines with ADF & Databricks
5+ years programming in Python & SQL
Experience designing data lakes / Lakehouse architectures
Strong problem-solving skills in complex environments
Nice to Have
Databricks Unity Catalog
Power BI integration
Experience modernizing legacy Synapse environments
Strong documentation & stakeholder communication skills
Hybrid role – 3 days onsite in Toronto (subject to Hiring Manager discretion)
