Senior Business Systems Analyst (IT)

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Duration: 12 months

Extension: Possible based on business needs

Location: Toronto (Hybrid – 2 days onsite, increasing to 4 days onsite in February; anchor day Wednesday)

 

Role Overview

The Business Systems Analyst V will act as a senior/lead analyst supporting a mobile application within the insurance line of business. This role partners closely with business and technology stakeholders to lead requirements delivery, support ongoing BAU initiatives, and ensure system solutions align with mobile standards, frameworks, and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the planning, elicitation, analysis, documentation, and management of functional and non-functional system requirements
Serve as subject matter expert on systems, applications, data flows, and integration points
Translate business needs into detailed functional specifications and acceptance criteria
Manage end-to-end requirements traceability through design, development, testing, and deployment
Support testing teams with use cases, test conditions, and expected results
Provide guidance and mentorship to team members within area of expertise
Collaborate with stakeholders to assess impacts, design future-state solutions, and drive business value
Support implementation, post-implementation activities, and ongoing operational analysis
Required Qualifications

10+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst
Proven experience supporting a mobile application
Strong requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Nice to Have

Prior experience in banking, insurance, e-commerce, or payment systems
Technical background supporting complex systems or integrations
