Rate: $70.00 – $77.00/hr (inc.)

Location: Toronto – Hybrid (onsite 4 days per week)

Duration: 6 months (Nov 3, 2025 – May 2, 2026; possible extension)

Overview

We are seeking two Senior Business Systems Analysts to join a data-focused project team. These roles will support process changes, adjustments, and the integration of large-scale data feeds. The successful candidates will combine strong SQL expertise with experience in data analysis, performance tuning, and collaboration with technical teams. Experience in capital markets or treasury is a strong asset.

Key Responsibilities

Gather, document, and validate business rules and requirements from stakeholders.
Write, test, and optimize SQL and Spark SQL statements to translate requirements into working solutions.
Perform performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries.
Use tools such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to analyze and troubleshoot packages.
Review and update project documentation, scope, and priorities; ensure tasks and milestones are delivered on time.
Collaborate with technology teams to implement requirements and provide guidance during QA testing.
Assess system inefficiencies, identify patterns, and conceptualize business processes for improvement.
Participate in Agile ceremonies (standups, planning sessions).
Must-Have Skills

8+ years of experience on large-scale projects and supporting day-to-day business requests.
4+ years of data analysis experience.
Strong SQL skills, with knowledge of optimization and performance tuning.
Familiarity with RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server).
Nice-to-Have Skills

Background in financial services (capital markets or treasury).
Experience with Big Data / NoSQL technologies such as Hadoop, HBase, Spark, Spark SQL.
Exposure to cloud technologies (Azure, Hadoop) and Java.
Soft Skills

Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in parallel.
Problem-solving mindset and comfort working with distributed teams.
