Senior Business Analyst
Hybrid – Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
Contract | Open to Canadian Contractors
$40–$80 per hour
Active Canadian Government Reliability Security Clearance Required

About the Role
Our client’s Digital Delivery Enablement team is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to act as a critical liaison between business needs and technology solutions. This role supports the early stages of business readiness ahead of a large-scale transformation of corporate functions, including HR, Finance, and Procurement.
The successful candidate will ensure alignment across process, data, change, and technical workstreams, influence prioritization to deliver timely business value, and foster strong collaboration between technical and business teams.

Primary Responsibilities
Analyze and translate business needs:
Gather, document, and analyze data requirements; support the development of a comprehensive data dictionary covering HR, Finance, and Procurement. Assist with prioritizing data assessments and aligning corrective action plans.
Collaborate with stakeholders:
Work closely with HR, Finance, Procurement, Data, and Process teams to ensure alignment between process development and data inventory.
Foster cross-functional collaboration:
Engage business stakeholders, management, Line of Business SMEs, and delivery teams to ensure clarity and shared understanding of artifacts and outcomes.
Support data readiness deliverables:
Contribute to ERP business readiness deliverables, including reviews, governance materials, and action plans (Process, Data, Governance, Change, Design, and Roadmap).
Enable delivery readiness:
Identify risks, dependencies, and timeline impacts; collaborate with initiative leads to ensure business value is delivered through effective risk and dependency management.

Top Skills Required
Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst
2+ years of experience working on digital journey or digital transformation initiatives

Business Analysis certification (e.g., IIBA CBAP®, IIBA Agile Analysis Certificate)
Master’s Certificate in Business Analysis
Agile certification (e.g., PMI DASM or similar)
French / English bilingualism
Experience in financial services or insurance
Experience in business intelligence, data, and reporting
