Role Summary
The Salesforce Functional SME (B2B) will lead the functional design, configuration, and delivery of Salesforce B2B solutions. The role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, architects, developers, QA teams, and cross-functional partners. The ideal candidate will translate complex business requirements into scalable Salesforce implementations across B2B Commerce, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and related integrations.
Key Responsibilities
Functional Leadership
Act as the primary SME for Salesforce B2B capabilities (B2B Commerce Lightning, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Partner/Experience Cloud).
Lead workshops for requirements gathering, business process mapping, and solution design.
Translate business needs into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications (BRDs, FRDs).
Ensure solution design adheres to Salesforce best practices and platform governance.
Solution Design & Configuration
Configure Salesforce objects, fields, flows, validation rules, page layouts, profiles, permission sets, and B2B Commerce components.
Design B2B processes including account hierarchies, price books, quoting, product catalogs, cart/checkout flows, and order management.
Support system architecture decisions, data modeling, and integration requirements with external systems.
Project Delivery
Collaborate with technical teams on Apex, integrations, APIs, Lightning components, and data migrations.
Lead functional testing by creating test scenarios, supporting UAT, and managing defect triage.
Define release plans and support deployment activities to ensure successful go-lives.
Governance & Stakeholder Management
Serve as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders and product owners.
Provide training, documentation, and change-management support.
Ensure compliance with security standards, data integrity, and governance policies.
Continuous Improvement
Recommend enhancements to improve usability, performance, and efficiency.
Stay current with Salesforce releases and promote new features where beneficial.
Required Qualifications
5–10 years of Salesforce functional experience.
Minimum 3+ years working specifically with Salesforce B2B Commerce (Lightning), Sales Cloud, and Service Cloud.
Strong understanding of Quote, Order, and Invoice lifecycle.
Hands-on experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Proficient in writing user stories, BRDs, FRDs, and test cases.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with architects, developers, QA, and business stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
Salesforce Certifications such as:
Salesforce Administrator
Sales Cloud Consultant
B2B Commerce Administrator/Developer
CPQ Specialist (nice to have)
Experience integrating Salesforce with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.).
Understanding of complex B2B pricing models, contract management, and end-to-end order orchestration.
