Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Quality Engineering (QE) Tester specializing in API and Data Validation within the banking sector. This position involves executing comprehensive testing strategies to ensure the integrity and performance of APIs and data systems, supporting critical banking operations in a fast-paced, Agile environment.

Pay rate range (CAD): $47.10/hr – $56.52/hr

Responsibilities

Conduct API testing, including functional and integration testing, to validate system behavior and data flow
Perform data validation using SQL, extracting and verifying data from Databricks environments
Validate batch processing systems, such as file extracts, and ensure data consistency across systems
Review and analyze application and system logs (e.g., OCP logs) to identify defects and troubleshoot issues
Execute manual and automated test cases, maintaining scripting and testing documentation
Develop and update test cases and scenarios based on evolving business requirements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams within an Agile framework to ensure quality deliverables
Track defects, verify fixes, and support all stages of the QA lifecycle
Desired Skill-Set

4–7 years of experience in Quality Engineering or Testing within banking or financial services
Strong expertise in API testing, including REST services and integrations
Proficient in SQL for data validation, extraction, and analysis
Experience working with batch systems and file-based data processing
Knowledge of banking domain processes and workflows
Hands-on experience in Agile/Scrum environments
Familiarity with ETL processes and tools
Ability to independently execute test scripts and interpret results
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Nice to Have

Experience with Databricks data environments
Exposure to log analysis tools and OCP log review
Basic knowledge of test automation frameworks
