Project Manager / Leader (Contract)

Noramtec is seeking an experienced Project Manager / Leader to support high-impact IT initiatives for our valued client. This is a hybrid contract role based in Toronto, Ontario. About the Role:
As a Project Manager / Leader, you’ll be responsible for driving strategic IT projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery. You’ll work closely with technical, business, and leadership teams to define project vision, manage roadmaps, mitigate risks, and maintain clear communication at every level.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and manage strategic, operational, and technical requirements for IT initiatives.
Develop project and product design criteria, communication protocols, and implementation strategies.
Direct, coordinate, and monitor all project management activities to deliver business-focused outcomes.
Define and articulate product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
Manage product backlogs, prioritize features, and oversee Agile (Scrum) delivery processes.
Establish measurable objectives and KPIs, track progress, and manage reporting.
Continuously de-risk product direction through validated insights and customer feedback.
Lead stakeholder communication, executive reporting, and product status updates.
Deliverables Include:
Product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
User research and customer discovery insights.
Agile product backlog management and user stories.
Risk mitigation plans and issue management strategies.
Regular reporting to senior leadership and steering committees.
Required Skills & Experience:
10+ years of enterprise project management experience.
Proven expertise in managing scope, risk, resources, schedules, and budgets.
Strong leadership, team building, and consensus-building skills.
Experience with change management strategies and risk event identification.
Ability to prioritize, communicate effectively, and manage product roadmaps.
Agile (Scrum) delivery experience — Scrum Master experience preferred.
Technical knowledge of Oracle Database, Unix/Linux, Windows Server, WebLogic, IIS, and Mainframe applications.
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, Atlassian (JIRA, Confluence), MIRO, Trello, Office 365, and online collaboration tools.
Strong presentation, negotiation, and documentation skills.
Experience completing cost-benefit analyses.
Knowledge of I&IT project management frameworks.
Expertise in backlog management tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps, Pivotal Tracker).
