Project Manager (Health care) – Contract
Onsite | Toronto, Ontario, Canada
NORAMTEC is seeking an experienced Project Manager (Health) to lead complex, high-visibility initiatives within the public sector healthcare environment. This is an on-site contract role based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Key Qualifications
Experience & Knowledge (5+ years):
Strong background in managing federal, provincial, or broader public sector healthcare projects.
Familiarity with PMI standards and Public Sector I&IT project management methodologies.
Understanding of Ministry policy, IT project approval processes, and government requirements.
Hands-on experience with:
Public Sector Unified I&IT Project Methodology
Public Sector Enterprise Architecture
Public Sector Gating processes
Public Sector Standard Systems Development Methodologies
Proven track record leading large, complex IT health-related projects.
Demonstrated knowledge of GO-ITS Digital Health standards and internal branch standards.
Core Responsibilities & Expertise
Delivery, Planning & Leadership:
Align project delivery with the Ontario Digital Service Standard, focusing on user-centered design, accessibility, privacy, and security.
Lead mission-critical business transformation and health IT initiatives across enterprise environments.
Drive agile delivery with product-focused teams, collaborating with business analysts and system designers to define scope and translate needs into actionable specifications.
Manage cross-functional teams of BAs, designers, and developers; establish working groups and stakeholder forums.
Conduct requirements gathering, develop schedules, resource plans, and integrated project plans.
Process, Risk & Change Management:
Apply business process transformation and re-engineering to enhance service delivery.
Identify and escalate risks/issues to senior leadership; develop mitigation strategies.
Proactively address conflicts related to schedules, costs, resources, and deliverables.
Maintain quality standards and stakeholder expectations through problem resolution.
Prepare comprehensive documentation, reports, dashboards, presentations, and implementation strategies.
Develop training and communication materials for large-scale system implementations, ensuring compliance with GO-ITS and Digital Health standards.
Provide program/portfolio reporting and deliver executive-level written and oral updates.
Apply effective change management strategies to overcome resistance and enable adoption.
