Job Overview
This role supports New Nuclear Development Initiatives.
The Project Leader will organize, coordinate, and control all stages of project management in accordance with governance standards, covering all phases from initiation to closeout.
Responsibilities include utilizing approved processes for phase-gating, integration, scope, schedule, cost, change control, estimating, communications, reporting, and risk management.
The incumbent will perform project management activities throughout the lifecycle of assigned projects, ensuring objectives are delivered within safety, quality, budget, and schedule targets.
Key duties involve preparing background information, contributing to scope and constructability reviews, assisting in Business Case Submissions, and coordinating project charters, WBS, estimates, schedules, risk management plans, and contract specifications.
The Project Leader will arrange approvals, licenses, and permits, define labour requirements, coordinate design clarifications, and participate in bid package preparation, tender evaluations, and purchasing recommendations.
They will lead meetings with designers, suppliers, construction, and operations, maintain liaison with field teams, provide management reports, monitor cost and schedule, and develop mitigation plans for risks.
Additional responsibilities include contract management, stakeholder communication, turnover documentation, deficiency resolution, and maintaining compliance with corporate procedures.
The role also requires awareness of technological advancements, reviewing technical publications, and supervising staff when necessary by assigning work and ensuring quality.
Qualifications
Candidates should have experience in industrial developments or business case writing, with strong project management expertise across all phases.
Knowledge of cost accounting, forecasting, contracting methods, construction codes, QA, and safety is required.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and complex multi-contract projects.
A minimum of 6 to 8 years of experience is necessary, supported by a four-year university degree in a relevant field and post-secondary courses in project management and business economics.
