Kelly Services has partnered with a client to recruit for Maintenance Mechanic across facilities in GTA, ON

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for providing overall mechanical support to the production group in the areas of packaging as well as processing and facilities to ensure continuous operations.

Responsibilities

Modify, repair, install, maintain, improve, and troubleshoot various types of machinery, equipment and facilities in the processing & packaging departments
Diagnose mechanical problems, provide quick & innovative solutions for mechanical equipment breakdowns by applying proven skills in the principles of mechanics, fitting, plumbing, basic welding, metal fabrication, machining, troubleshooting, and analytical problem solving
Operates drill press, grinder, saws, and all other machine shop tools
Setup, takedown, and relocation of bakery and packaging equipment
Performs preventative maintenance and safety inspections
Provides solutions to routine or unique equipment problems
Promptly responds to equipment related issues with customer-oriented manner
Safely Operates Scissor lift, Forklift as needed (after training and certification)
Equipment PM (Preventive Maintenance) – responsible for maintaining equipment in safe working condition, lubricating necessary parts, changing worn out or damaged parts, Perform major overhauls
Equipment (Production) – helps production set up the equipment on the line and troubleshoot/repair equipment during shift.
Shop House Keeping – responsible for maintaining maintenance shop and toolbox organized and clean
Filling Out Shift Report – responsible for filling out electronically the shift report in specific issues or tasks completed during shift
Responsible for filling out Notifications/Workorders through CMMS SAP system
Skills & Experience

Minimum 3 years of working experience in Maintenance in a Manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs
Mechanical Training or Experience is preferred
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of Health & Safety and Lockout Procedures
Must have a valid driver’s license

Pay rate: $38.75 – 43.75/hour + 4% vacation pay
