Intermediate Network Administrator

We are seeking an Intermediate Network Administrator to support and stabilize our client’s existing network environment while contributing to documentation and future network improvements. This role focuses on gaining visibility into the current network topology, ensuring systems are up to date, and supporting planning efforts for upcoming network upgrades.

This is a 6‑month contract with a strong possibility of extension, based on performance and project needs. The role is hybrid, requiring 2 days onsite per week in Burnaby, BC.

Key Responsibilities
Inventory and document network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless equipment
Maintain accurate network documentation and topology diagrams
Support ongoing network maintenance, patching, and firmware updates
Monitor network health and assist with troubleshooting and issue resolution
Contribute to planning and execution of network improvements and upgrade initiatives
Ensure configurations align with organizational standards and security requirements

Required Qualifications
3–5 years of experience as a Network Administrator or in a similar role
Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, and wireless networking
Hands-on experience with enterprise networking equipment (Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, Fortinet, or similar)
Experience creating and maintaining network documentation and diagrams
Familiarity with firmware management and network maintenance best practices
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting network refresh or upgrade projects
Knowledge of network security concepts (firewalls, access controls, segmentation)
Experience working in structured IT environments with formal change management processes
Relevant certifications (CCNA, Network+, or equivalent) are considered an asset
