About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Intermediate Data Analyst to join a dynamic team in Edmonton, Alberta. This hybrid position (3 days/week in office) offers a unique opportunity to drive data-informed decision-making across IT, finance, and procurement operations. The ideal candidate is a data storyteller with a knack for statistical analysis, dashboard development, and financial insights.
You will play a key role in linking datasets, informing leadership decisions, improving service delivery, and supporting strategic planning through innovative data visualization and analytics.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain service metrics and performance dashboards for IT project spend, risk, and progress.
Advise teams and leadership using real-time data trends and performance insights.
Recommend and implement performance metrics for program monitoring and improvement.
Support Technology and Innovation program areas in understanding and achieving data-driven deliverables.
Conduct contract inventory and spend analysis to inform financial planning.
Develop contract-level budget justifications and spend plans aligned with program goals.
Produce zero-based budgeting reports to promote transparency and optimize resource use.
Assist in grants management through data analysis and compliance reporting.
Design and implement data models and policies to improve decision-making and digital service adoption.
Create engaging data visualizations and storytelling tools to support strategic initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in data science, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
3+ years in data analysis (with a focus on finance, procurement, or operational performance).
Experience extracting, cleaning, and preparing datasets.
Strong track record of dashboard and report development (Power BI, Tableau, Excel).
Proficient in Microsoft SQL Server and other database tools.
Demonstrated ability to conduct business requirement analysis and present findings to diverse audiences.
Experience with budgeting/reporting in a government or public-sector context preferred.
Technical Skills:
Microsoft Office Suite (3+ years)
SQL or related tools (2+ years)
Data visualization tools (2+ years)
Dashboard and report development (3+ years)

Location: Edmonton, Alberta (Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week)
