Infrastructure Team Lead (Hands-On)

Infrastructure Team Lead (Hands-On) Toronto – Hybrid
We’re looking for a hands-on Infrastructure Team Lead who loves being deep in the tech while guiding a small team. This is a true player-coach role — about 70% hands-on engineering and 30% leadership and coordination.
You’ll work across the full infrastructure stack, owning real projects like network upgrades, infrastructure builds, and data center transitions, while helping bring stability, speed, and reliability to day-to-day operations.
What You’ll Do
Lead and actively deliver across compute, storage, networking, servers, OS, middleware, and on-prem identity
Own and execute infrastructure projects end-to-end
Support and coordinate team workloads while staying hands-on
Partner closely with senior leadership to improve delivery and reduce bottlenecks
Work in a non-siloed environment where broad skills are valued
What We’re Looking For
Strong generalist infrastructure background (not siloed)
Hands-on experience with on-prem infrastructure and data centers
Solid knowledge of Active Directory / on-prem identity
Comfortable leading while still being deeply technical
Experience with network upgrades and infrastructure modernization
Willing to work hybrid (2–3 days in office)
Nice to Have
Experience in smaller or lean teams
Exposure to reliability or operational best practices
