| What we are looking for

Responsibilities

This is an exciting HR Generalist opportunity! You will lead operational activities for a variety of People Operations programs. You will lend support to other internal teams, providing you with growth and internal advancement opportunities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

compensation, recruitment support (creating job postings, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, completing reference checks), Student recruitment, Audit preparation/support and support for additional HR projects as needed.

This is a temporary position for a 12-month term.

| A day in the life

Your responsibilities as the HR Generalist will include but not limited to:

Recruitment Support

 

Lead end-to-end recruitment for junior to intermediate-level roles, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and additional support.
Partner with hiring leaders to understand role requirements, support interview processes, and ensure a positive candidate experience.
Represent Payments Canada at networking, industry, and recruitment events to promote employer brand and support talent attraction efforts.
Support the Recruitment Manager in the creation, review, and maintenance of recruitment documents, including job descriptions, interview guides, and process documentation.
Support the onboarding process for new hires to ensure due diligence is completed in a timely manner to comply with legislation and procedures and create a position onboarding experience.

Process Improvements

 

Responsible for making continuous process improvements, identifying efficiencies and creating process documents/frameworks with the goal of streamlining the process while maximizing efficiencies and employee experience.
Continuously review and optimize the onboarding process and implement improvements in partnership with team members and other key stakeholders as it pertains to systems and processes.

Special Project and Audit Support.

 

Provide project/special assignment support, gather information, conduct research, and assemble pertinent materials, as required.
Work with the internal audit team to prepare and review multiple audit projects; reconcile and provide supporting documentations for audit and compliance requirements.
Provide data and reporting to validate benefits billing and support regular reviews.

Total Rewards

 

Act as the main point of contact for all employee questions and work closely with vendors to resolve employee issues and inquiries.
Initiate and implement all benefits, pension enrolments, departures and changes.
Responsible for coordinating, administering and improving employee recognition and service award programs.

| What you need to be successful

 

Diploma in Human Resources Management or Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or a related field.
Minimum of five (5) years’ progressive experience working in Human Resources, with demonstrated experience in a generalist position, including benefits/leaves coordination, employee life-cycle services, recruitment and collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Possesses sound foundational knowledge of applicable HR functions and related policies, procedures and legislation.
Demonstrates strong ability to provide accurate and timely HR support to various lines of business within the organization.
Possess comprehensive expertise in key HR areas such as recruitment, compensation, total rewards, performance management, and talent management.
Demonstrated experience and proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of discretion and professionalism.
Eligibility to successfully complete background checks that will be carried out by Payments Canada, including criminal, credit, identity, employment, and education checks.

| You will really stand out with

 

Experience in the Payments Industry or Financial Services sector is considered an asset.
Demonstrated continuous learning within most HR areas, CHRP/CHRL designation is considered an asset.

| Salary range

 

Based on qualifications and experience: $78,031 to $97,539.00.
