Front End Designers

We’re looking to hire: 10 Front End Designers (Remote, Contract)
Location: Remote (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada)
Type: Contract (1-year, with possible extension up to 24 months)

About the Opportunity:
Noramtec is partnering with a client for their Digital Design and Delivery Division (3D) to expand and modernize the digital services. We’re looking for 10 talented Front-End Designers to join this dynamic team and play a pivotal role in service innovation and digital transformation projects that impact the client’s end users.
As a Front-End Designer, you’ll work as part of cross-functional, agile teams on projects ranging from service redesigns to new digital service creation. If you’re passionate about human-centred design, creating seamless digital experiences, and contributing to meaningful public sector change, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop creative, evidence-based front-end design solutions for digital service delivery
Design prototypes, wireframes, pattern libraries, graphic style guides, and detailed build-ready specifications
Plan and participate in user research activities and usability testing
Provide well-documented, justifiable recommendations for design decisions
Actively engage in agile project processes (sprint planning, demos, reviews, retrospectives)
Ensure accessibility compliance and best practices
Collaborate with product owners, developers, and service designers across multiple concurrent projects

What We’re Looking For:
Strong portfolio of front-end design work (must be submitted as a PDF attachment — links not accepted)
Experience with human-centred design and agile methodology
Familiarity with modern design tools and systems
Ability to work remotely within Alberta and occasional travel to Edmonton as needed
Ability to obtain necessary criminal record checks and security clearances if required

Bonus:
Experience working in government or public sector environments
Knowledge of accessibility standards and compliance practices
Familiarity with FOIP, security, and information management frameworks

Other Details:
Remote work primarily, with quarterly in-person sessions in Edmonton, Alberta, is at your own expense.
Full-time (7.25 hours/day), working across 2-3 projects
Mandatory training is provided upon hire, full background checks will be completed.
