About the job
Terrific opportunity to join a small and well-established non-profit organization located in the west-end of Ottawa on a full-time, permanent basis. Reporting to the General Manager, you will have full oversight of the finance and accounting function from daily transactions to preparing budgets and forecasts and financial reporting for the board of directors. This will require a hands-on, roll up your sleeves approach with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

 

Main responsibilities include:

 

Prepare financial statementsPrepare budgets and forecasts and provide related analysisAccounts payable, accounts receivable, bank deposits, account reconciliations and payrollGovernment tax remittancesManage short term investmentsMaintain internal controls and identify areas for improvement and provide recommendationsLiaise with the Treasurer and prepare financial updates for the board of directorsOther duties as required

Qualifications

The main qualifications for this role include:

 

Post-secondary education in finance, accounting or related fieldMinimum 4+ years of progressive experience in full-cycle accounting, including financial reporting and analysisPrevious non-profit experience considered an assetProficient in ExcelExcellent communication and presentation skills, oral and written
