Duration: 6 month to start
Potential for this contract to be extended or converted to FTE? yes for both.
Hybrid work – in-office every Tuesday plus second Friday of every month. Subject to change. May require additional onsite days.
Office Location: 81 Bay 16th Floor
Work Schedule (hours per week, start time): 9 to 5, 37.5 Hours/week, 9-5 Monday to Friday
Potential for OT? Likely. Overtime may be required; weekends may be required (on call) *1 person each week is on standby – this will be a rotating person each week.
Team Size? 20 DBAs on the team, team is sub divided in 2 teams and support database for various lines of business, doing complex trouble shooting, code deployment, BAU activities
Who Will the Candidate Be Working with on a Daily Basis? Solution Design, DB Engineering, Information Security teams and external vendors.

How many years of experience? 5-7+ Years but preference is more senior. But if they meet all requirements we are okay with 5 years.
Job Description:
Daily Job Duties/Activities:
– Taking ownership of and leading technical resolutions for production incidents
– Communicating clearly complex technical issues to stakeholders and Lines of Business partners
– Complying with Bank standards for change control and overall database security policies
– Analyzing recurring incidents and identifying service improvements where possible
– Providing on-call rotational/pager support where required
– Participating in Incidents and Changes as part of BAU Operational activities
– Participating in Scheduled Disaster Recovery or SCM activities
– Participating in post-mortems and RCAs (Root Cause Analysis) of critical incidents
Must Haves:
– 5+ years of experience in similar database role
– Extensive experience in MSSQL, and Azure SQL (IaaS, PaaS)
– Setup/Installation and configuration of DB products
– Experience in Tuning, Query Optimization, Monitoring and Troubleshooting database issues
– Cloud migration experience
– Exhibit knowledge of DB backup restore and recovery
Nice to have:

– Individual should be able to jump right into any stage of the migration process.
– Experience building applications from the bottom.
– The team is very close-knit and the interviews are panel style with multiple team members – covering build, deployment, troubleshooting, support, tuning & migration questions.
– The team is very supportive and have a positive attitude.
– The individual must be able to take ownership of the various applications they are working on with their assigned LOBs. They must be able to provide the best experience for the LOB as it is external facing team.
