Data Scientist

Data Scientist (1y contract)

Hybrid: 2–3 days per week
Location: core downtown Toronto, ON
Client: one of the 6 largest CAN banks
Rate: depends on expertise level (70-80-ish – lets discuss)

Required experience and skills:
– strong data science background (minimum 5yrs of experience) rather than a focus on GenAI.
– End-to-end from requirement gathering with the business stakeholders (require good communication skills)
– Work with data engineer to do data ETL
– The programing language is SQL and Python
– Strong hands‑on experience required: end‑to‑end model development, deployment, and large‑scale data manipulation
– Exploratory data analysis including feature engineering, data manipulation etc. (Pandas, Numpy, Scipy etc.)
– Building traditional Non-GenAI/LLM/NLP machine learning models, i.e. classification (strongly preferred), regression, clustering etc.
– Model validation/testing
– Model documentation
– Work with MLOps for production.
