The Opportunity

We are seeking a Data Science Developer for a 12-month term to join our Data Analytics team. Reporting to the Supervisor, Advanced Analytics, the successful candidate will use their prior experience in analytics along with their communication skills for the development and maintenance of data pipelines, design of scalable data architectures, and ensure quality through testing and validation processes. Based in our Calgary office, this role offers a unique chance to leverage your analytical expertise to support data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Management

 

Develop and maintain robust data pipelines to ensure efficient data ingestion, processing, and storageDesign and implement scalable data architectures to support analytics and machine learning initiativesEnsure data quality and integrity through rigorous testing and validation processes

Data Analysis & Modeling

 

Identify, collect, and transform large datasets into actionable insights using statistical techniques, machine learning models, and predictive analyticsDevelop and maintain data pipelines to ensure efficient data ingestion, processing, and storage

Solution Development & Deployment

 

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy solutions and automate processes where possible

Business Collaboration

 

Build dashboards, visualizations, interfaces, and reports that effectively communicate complex analytical results to non-technical stakeholdersSupport delivery and adoption of new and existing tools and workflows

Collaboration & Best Practices

 

Work within an agile framework to rapidly prototype, test, and refine solutionsPromote best practices in data science, including code quality, version control, MLOps, and collaboration toolsStay current with the latest analytics, AI/ML, and data engineering trends to continually improve data science capabilities at ARC

What You Will Bring To Arc

Working with cutting-edge infrastructure and tools including Databricks, Github Copilot, Azure IOT, and many more, you will solve challenging business problems requiring the application of advanced data science across Engineering, Drilling, Completions, Geosciences, Marketing, and Environmental. In addition, the successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

 

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, data science, statistics, engineering, or a related fieldA minimum of 3 years of experience working with large datasets to develop data-driven solutions, with prior experience in the oil and gas industry being considered an assetProven expertise in developing and optimizing data pipelines to ensure efficient data flow and seamless integration across diverse systemsProficiency in programming languages and systems such as Python, R, Spark, Docker, and SQL, with exposure to cloud-based data platformsStrong problem-solving skills, with an ability to tackle complex analytical challenges and deliver tangible business valueExcellent communication skills, enabling you to translate technical findings into practical, actionable insightsHands-on experience with big data technologies, data pipelines, and real-time/batch processing frameworks is an asset (e.g., Databricks)
