Data Architect (Azure / Data & Analytics) – Remote Contract (Canada)
We’re looking for a highly skilled Data Architect to lead the design and evolution of enterprise-scale data and analytics solutions in a modern Microsoft Azure environment.
This is a high-impact role focused on building scalable data platforms, driving analytics maturity, and strengthening data governance across the organization.
💡 What You’ll Do
Design and evolve enterprise data architecture on Azure
Build scalable data models, pipelines, and BI solutions
Integrate data from multiple sources into centralized platforms
Lead data governance, metadata, lineage, and data quality initiatives
Collaborate with business, IT, and analytics teams
Optimize performance of enterprise data and reporting systems
🧠 What You Bring
Strong experience as a Data Architect / Data Engineer / similar senior role
Hands-on expertise with Azure Data & Analytics stack (ADF, Synapse, Databricks, Azure Data Lake, etc.)
Strong SQL, ETL, and data modelling skills
Experience with BI tools (Power BI or Tableau)
Knowledge of data governance and enterprise data frameworks
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
⭐ Nice to Have
Enterprise-scale data platform or BI ecosystem design experience
Experience in regulated or public sector environments
Exposure to data governance and compliance frameworks
📍 Details
Location: Remote (Canada-based; may require occasional Ottawa/Toronto presence)
Duration: 1-year contract + extension option
Rate: Up to $120/hour (all inclusive)
Work Eligibility: Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Security: Must be eligible for Reliability clearance
