Cloud Security Engineer (Azure/GCP) – Contract
📍 Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 2 days/week in office)

Join one of Canada’s leading financial institutions as a Cloud Security Engineer, where you’ll work on a long-term, high-impact cloud transformation project focused on securing large-scale cloud-native infrastructure across Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
🌐 About the Role:
This is a contract role with a long-term runway and potential for full-time conversion. You’ll be embedded in the Cloud Security Engineering group, designing and implementing cutting-edge Cloud Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP) capabilities and security tooling across multiple cloud platforms.
🧠 What You’ll Do:
Design, implement, and document cloud-native security tools for GCP and Azure
Integrate security tooling into CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows
Collaborate with high-performing teams of Cloud Engineers, DevOps, and Security Architects
Drive adoption of cloud security best practices across the enterprise
Support container security initiatives using Kubernetes, Docker, and related tooling
✅ Required Experience:
10+ years in IT roles, including 7+ years in hands-on engineering roles
2+ years of experience in cloud security engineering with Azure and/or GCP
Hands-on with tools like Google SCC, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Wiz, AquaSec
Experience with container-based security (Docker, Kubernetes)
2+ years in security-focused roles (security engineer, architect, etc.)
🛠️ Bonus Skills:
Familiarity with scripting and automation using YAML, Python, Shell, JSON
Experience with DevOps tools: Git, Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence
Knowledge of IAM, SSO, TLS, Key Vaults, encryption protocols
Certifications like CISSP, CCSP, or Google Cloud Security Engineer (an asset)
