About the Role:
We’re looking for a hands-on Senior Cloud Engineer to join the Cloud Engineering team at one of Canada’s leading financial institutions. You’ll play a key role in building cloud storage solutions and driving infrastructure automation for the bank’s multi-year Google Cloud transformation initiative (CAP – Cloud Acceleration Program).
If you’re a DevOps or InfraOps engineer with strong Terraform, GCP, and automation experience, this is your opportunity to make an impact on a large-scale enterprise cloud migration.
What You’ll Be Doing:
🔹 Supporting the migration of virtual machines and storage from on-prem/VMWare to Google Cloud (GCVE/GCE)
🔹 Designing and deploying IaC (Terraform) for storage components like:
• Google Cloud NetApp Volumes (GCNV)
• Google Cloud Storage Buckets (GCS)
• Persistent Disks
🔹 Creating policies and automation to scale secure cloud storage adoption
🔹 Collaborating with DevOps, Security, and Product teams
🔹 Leading development in Python, HCL, Helm with tools like ArgoCD, Jenkins, Ansible
🔹 Supporting CI/CD pipelines and onboarding applications to cloud infrastructure
🔹 Mentoring junior engineers and participating in Agile sprints
Must-Have Experience:
✅ 8+ years in Cloud/DevOps/Infrastructure Engineering
✅ 3+ years of Terraform development
✅ 1–2 years of hands-on GCP cloud operations
✅ Deep experience in scripting, config management, CI/CD (Argo, Jenkins, etc.)
✅ Strong communication skills & cross-functional collaboration
Nice-to-Haves:
⭐ GCNV, GCS, or persistent cloud storage solutions
⭐ Unix/Linux administration
⭐ Experience with Salt, Ansible, Docker
