Business Analyst

Our Canadian banking client is hiring a Business Analyst to join their team for a 6month contract to start with the potential for extension. They are located in downtown Toronto and will be onsite twice per week.

– This is a data heavy BA role with strong experience in data flows, lineage, transformation logic, SQL, and cloud (GCP preferred, Azure is ok) as a necessity.
– Experience in Python and Canadian banking is prioritized.
– This is an intermediate level position, targeting 5+ years. The rate for this role pays up to $67 per hour incorporated based on a 37.5 hour work week.

Must-Have Qualifications
1. Business Analysis Experience
– 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst.
– Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver successful outcomes.
– Experience working across multiple teams and stakeholder groups to drive alignment.

2. SQL Expertise
– 5+ years of experience with SQL.
– Intermediate to advanced proficiency in data analysis, validation, and querying.

3. Cloud Data Platform Experience
– 2+ years of experience working with cloud-based data platforms, including:
– Google Cloud Storage
– BigQuery
– Databricks

4. Quality Assurance Experience
– 5+ years of QA experience.
– Experience developing testing strategies, test plans, and test entry/exit criteria.

Nice-to-Have Skills
– Experience with automated testing frameworks.
– QA testing experience within Jupyter Notebook environments.
– Python scripting experience for data validation, testing, or automation.
– Experience with retail credit risk, banking products, or capital markets environments.
