We’re Hiring | Business Analyst – Data Governance (Compliance)

We’re looking for an experienced Business Analyst – Data Governance to join a leading Financial Institution in Toronto, supporting Enterprise Compliance and regulatory initiatives.

📍 Location: Hybrid – Toronto (2 days onsite, moving to 4 days/week from Feb 2026 – TBC)
📅 Duration: 12 months (Extension & conversion possible)
🕘 Schedule: Mon–Fri, core business hours

🔍 What you’ll be doing – Lead and guide a small team of analysts within a larger regulatory project
Strengthen data governance and data management practices across Compliance
Identify and remediate Data Retention & Disposition (DRD) gaps
Manage project timelines, risks, issues, and dependencies
Support data analysis, reporting, cataloguing, and evidencing activities
Partner with multiple stakeholders to ensure alignment with enterprise data standards

✅ Must-have skills
Strong experience in Data Governance & Compliance
Project experience (timelines, risk identification, issue escalation)
Data analytics & Excel-based reporting (including manual processes)
Proven stakeholder management capabilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently

🌟 Nice-to-have
Financial Services / Banking experience
Data management, controls, and regulatory data knowledge
Experience leading teams or workstreams
Tools: Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Confluence, JIRA
👥 Team size: ~15
🎓 Experience: 7+ years
