💼 Job Overview
Provide guidance and advice to employees regarding benefit offerings, eligibility, and processes.
Respond to inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
Administration:
Oversee the day-to-day administration of benefit programs, including enrollment, changes, terminations, and retirements.
Ensure accurate record-keeping and timely processing of transactions.
Data Management:
Maintain and update databases with member information, including data from third-party plan administrators.
Ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
Perform benefit membership and adjudication data reconciliation, analysis and review.
Calculations:
Perform pension-related calculations, such as service credits, retirement estimates, and benefit entitlements.
Communicate results clearly to members.
Customer Service:
Act as a primary point of contact for members and vendors, offering excellent customer service and building positive relationships.
Education & Communication:
Educate members on plan features, administrative processes, and changes to programs.
Prepare and deliver presentations or written materials as needed.
Compliance:
Ensure all benefits programs comply with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
Assist with audits and reporting as required.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to streamline administrative processes and improve the member experience.
☑️ Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in benefits administration or consulting.
Strong understanding of benefits programs, including regulatory requirements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and database management.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in reviewing and validating member enrollment data.
Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Experience supporting benefit audits and reporting processes.
Experience working with third-party vendors and service providers is an asset.
