Our large retail/eCommerce client is seeking a Automation QA to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis. This role will be hybrid, onsite twice per month in the GTA. Strong experience in Java, Cucumber, and API testing are the keys to success here.

Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Java and Cucumber.
Lead a team of 5+ QA Engineers across multiple projects and sprints.
Conduct functional, API, and integration testing to ensure high-quality product releases.
Collaborate with development and product teams to identify test requirements and define QA standards.
Participate in design and code reviews, ensuring testability and quality are embedded early in the lifecycle.
Report testing progress, coverage, and results to key stakeholders.
Champion best practices for automation, regression testing, and CI/CD integration.

Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, with a focus on test automation.
Proven leadership experience, managing or mentoring mid-size QA teams
Strong technical proficiency in Java scripting and Cucumber for test automation.
Expertise in API testing (REST, Postman, etc.) and integration testing.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience in developing and maintaining automated test frameworks
