Job Overview:

Salary: $90,000 – $100,000 base (*Higher may be considered)

Bonus: 14%

Vacation: 3 weeks

 

 

 

Position Title: Tableau (BI) Developer

 

 

 

We are looking for a talented and driven Tableau Developer to join our client’s Data Management team. As a Tableau Developer, you will be responsible for creating interactive data visualizations and dashboards that transform complex data into actionable insights. Working closely with data engineers, data architects, and business stakeholders, you will translate data requirements into engaging visual solutions that drive decision-making.

 

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

 

 

Develop Dashboards and Reports: Design, build, and maintain dynamic Tableau dashboards and reports that effectively communicate data insights to various stakeholders.

Collaborate with Stakeholders: Partner with business teams to understand their data needs and deliver visualizations that meet their requirements.

Data Integration: Utilize SQL and other data tools to extract, combine, and prepare datasets from multiple sources to create comprehensive data visualizations.

Visualization Best Practices: Implement and advocate for best practices in data visualization, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and usability across all Tableau outputs.

Design System Maintenance: Support the upkeep and continuous improvement of the Design System within the analytics community.

 

 

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

 

 

Use Tableau to create intuitive data visualizations that tell compelling stories and answer key business questions.

Develop custom Tableau dashboard solutions and reusable templates to streamline reporting processes.

Gather and refine requirements from stakeholders, ensuring a user-centered design approach for data visualizations.

Work closely with data engineers to understand data architecture and ensure visualizations accurately reflect the underlying data.

Prototype dashboards and reports based on stakeholder feedback to ensure they meet business needs.

Present findings and visualizations to both internal and client leadership teams.

Incorporate performance optimization and data quality considerations into Tableau report development.

Document processes, manage project progress, and communicate effectively using tools like Asana or similar platforms.

Conduct user testing to iterate on dashboards and visualizations, ensuring they remain relevant and impactful.

Stay updated on emerging trends and Tableau enhancements to continually improve data visualization strategies.

 

 

 

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

 

 

 

Education: A university degree in computer science, data analytics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

 

 

Experience:

 

 

 

5+ years of hands-on experience in data visualization and analysis using Tableau.

5+ years of experience with business intelligence tools, including Tableau, SQL, and Excel.

Strong ability to handle large datasets, identifying trends and opportunities to enhance the user experience.

Proven track record of managing multiple projects with high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative data solutions.

 

 

 

Skills and Competencies:

 

 

 

Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Tableau development, data manipulation using SQL, and an understanding of data integration from diverse sources.

Visualization Expertise: Strong design skills with knowledge of visualization best practices, data mapping, and colour theory.

Problem-Solving Skills: Creative problem-solving abilities focused on delivering practical solutions to meet business needs.

Communication Skills: Ability to translate complex data insights into clear, visual representations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Team Collaboration: Demonstrated experience working within a team-oriented, service-driven environment.

Bonus Skills: Knowledge of Python or R for advanced data analysis, as well as familiarity with design tools like Adobe Illustrator.
