Senior Data Engineer
Purpose
Client has a strong mandate to transform the way that we leverage and use our data. The foundation of our data warehouse has been built and we are now embarking on an exciting effort to turn our data into insights. The Senior Data Engineer will capture, review data, and report on any trends and patterns shown using Snowflake, Matillion ETL, Microsoft Power BI, SQL Server, and Microsoft Azure. These insights will support the success and growth of our customers and revolutionize the corporate partnership with them.
Responsibilities
Design, build and test ETL components to move dataAnalyze data and produce insights for business stakeholdersAnalyze data problems and concepts and provide multiple and creative solutionsBuild new reports and modify existing reports in partnership with the BusinessSupport all BI components operationally via monitoring and troubleshootingDevelop and maintain functional & technical documentationFacilitate deployment of changes with disciplined change management processInterface with internal and external clients to determine reporting & insights requirementsTranslate business and client needs into technical specificationsFacilitate UAT and QA testingProvide client support for our applications as requiredProactive approach to staying up to date on industry changes and trend actively learning new technologies
Required Qualifications and Experience
College Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or related field7+ years of experience in technology, data analyticsIn addition to hands on development, experience in writing functional and technical specifications
Deep experience with:
data warehousing technologies and conceptso report requirements gathering, build and test
o cloud technologiesExperience with the following platforms preferred:Snowflake preferred or other platforms such as TeraData, or Microsoft FabricMatillin ETL preferred or other ETL Platforms such as Informatica, or Azure Data FactoryMicrosoft Power BI preferred or Tableauo SQL Server and SSRSo Microsoft AzureTechnical Development backgroundSolid business and superior client interface skillsExcellent verbal & written skills
