Finance Director

Job Description

Our client, a reputable Manufacturing firm, is expanding its business and looking for an experienced Finance Director with strong financial management skills, Communication skills, problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, and eagerness to make a difference in a manufacturing environment.

This is an onsite role based out of Oakville.

Your experience you bring will include:

7+ years of experience in financial costing, reporting, planning, analysis, modeling, and forecasting.

Proven work experience as a Director of Finance, Controller or similar role.

In-depth knowledge of ASPE and accounting principles, laws and best practices.

Work experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.

Work experience in Public Accounting is an asset.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve complex issues.

Strong communication and presentation skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

Monthly internal financial reporting, analysis and KPI’s reviewing company’s financial performance with Executive and Private Equity investor.

Quarterly external bank reporting and compliance with bank covenants

Preparing 13-week Cash Flow, driven by inputs from Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams

Manage annual budget and quarterly forecast processes with Company divisions (lines of business), providing financial analysis and direction to assist in strategic decisions.

Partner with the cross-functional leadership members to deliver financial analysis and support to operate their divisions.

Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality of operations.

Lead and drive an efficient and successful annual external audit.

Other additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Required Skills / Experience
Work Experience:
• 7+ years of experience in ideally project based financial costing, financial reporting, planning, analysis, modeling, and forecasting.
• Proven work experience as a Director of Finance, Controller or similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of ASPE and accounting principles, laws and best practices.
• Work experience in a manufacturing environment an asset.
• Work experience in Public Accounting an asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills working with executive management
