Job Title: Automation Tester (Playwright and Privacy/Compliance)

About The Role:

• We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Quality Engineer (QE) to ensure high-quality delivery of privacy and compliance features across our digital platforms.

• This role focuses on validating end-to-end user experiences related to cookie consent, privacy preferences, and data subject rights, while strengthening test automation and quality practices.

 

Required Qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience in Quality Engineering with CPRA, CCPA, and GDPR Guidelines

• Strong understanding of manual and automated testing.

• Experience in web testing, API testing, and debugging tools.

• Proficiency with browser developer tools (cookies, network, console).

• Hands-on experience with Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or equivalent frameworks.

• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Functional Testing

• Design, develop, and execute test cases for web and mobile applications.

• Validate end-to-end workflows, including Privacy Preference Center (PPC), Your Privacy Choices (YPC), opt-in/opt-out flows, and Data Subject Rights (DSR) forms.

• Ensure consent preferences are correctly captured, stored, and applied.

 

2. Compliance and Privacy Validation

• Verify compliance with privacy regulations such as CPRA and CCPA

• Validate cookie behavior and consent management platforms (Optanon/OneTrust).

• Ensure tracking or targeting does not occur without user consent.

• Test Global Privacy Control (GPC) and Do Not Track (DNT) scenarios.

 

3. Automation

• Build and maintain automated test suites using Playwright, Cypress, or similar tools

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

• Validate tracking behavior using network interception and logs.

• Improve test reliability and reduce flakiness.

 

4. Cross-Platform Testing

• Perform testing across Chrome, Safari, and Firefox.

• Validate behavior on desktop, mobile web, and app platforms.

• Ensure functionality across multiple regions and locales.

 

5. Defect Management

• Identify, log, and track defects using Jira or similar tools.

• Collaborate with developers and product teams to resolve issues.

• Perform regression testing and verify bug fixes.

 

6. Collaboration

• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Privacy teams.

• Participate in requirements, reviews, and test planning.

• Provide QA sign-off for releases.
