Senior Systems QA Testing Specialist

We are currently looking for a Senior Systems QA Testing Specialist for our public service client located in downtown Toronto. This is a hybrid role requiring three days onsite in Toronto. The position is a contract with a rate of $75/hr. for an initial duration of six months with renewal. The role focuses on end-to-end systems testing across complex, integrated transit applications that support real-time operations, customer information systems, scheduling, and network services. You will be instrumental in ensuring the quality, stability, and performance of mission-critical platforms used in large-scale public transit operations, collaborating closely with internal teams and external vendors in both Agile and Waterfall environments. Key Focus Areas include: – Functional, regression, smoke, UAT, and end-to-end testing – Test planning, strategy development, and execution – Defect tracking, analysis, and reporting using JIRA / Zephyr – API and system integration testing (Postman / SoapUI / Selenium or similar) – Collaboration with developers, stakeholders, and third-party vendors – Support for enterprise systems including SaaS and COTS applications – Non-functional testing including performance, security, usability, and compliance Must-Have Experience: – 8+ years in QA / systems testing environments – 5+ years in Agile and Waterfall delivery models – Strong hands-on experience in test case development and execution – Experience with JIRA, Zephyr, and Confluence – Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills – Degree or diploma in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field If you are interested or know someone who may be a fit, please feel free to connect or reach out directly.
