Sr. CICS Systems Programmer (Mainframe)

Sr. CICS Systems Programmer (Mainframe) – Hybrid (Toronto) 12 month contract
We are seeking a Senior CICS Systems Programmer with deep expertise in mainframe and z/OS environments to support a large enterprise banking infrastructure team.
This is a hands-on technical role focused on ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of mission-critical CICS systems in a high-volume production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support, maintain, and enhance CICS environments on z/OS
Perform installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching of CICS systems
Monitor system performance and proactively troubleshoot production issues
Ensure high availability and reliability of mainframe transaction processing systems
Work closely with infrastructure and application teams to resolve complex issues
Support incident management, root cause analysis, and production support activities
Optimize system performance and ensure adherence to enterprise standards
Must-Have Requirements
Strong, senior-level experience as a CICS Systems Programmer
Deep hands-on experience with IBM z/OS mainframe environments
Proven experience supporting enterprise-scale CICS installations
Strong background in CICS configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
Experience with production support in a high-availability environment
Prior experience in banking or financial services environments
Ideal Candidate Profile
Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer with strong CICS expertise
Experience working in large enterprise or regulated environments
Strong troubleshooting skills with ability to work under pressure
Comfortable working in hybrid on-site model (Toronto GTA)
