Job Overview:

– Project review and document support for CRA filings.
– Review projects at the work-detail and activity level to identify and extract supporting reference documentation needed for CRA tax filings.
– Build and maintain working papers and working files that tie source documents to filing positions and calculations.
– Validate completeness and accuracy of supporting evidence and escalate gaps and risks.
– Stakeholder engagement and clarification.
– Partner with Project Managers and project teams to clarify scope, work activity classification, and missing details.
– Document follow-ups, decisions, and assumptions and update working files accordingly.
– Provide guidance on what documentation is needed and why in plain language.
– Workflow and process improvement and automation.
– Design and implement automated workflows to collect required information more efficiently, including intake templates, tracking, and dashboards.
– Act as a process and system champion through testing, iteration, training, and troubleshooting.
– Innovative gap-filling and analysis.
– Perform contract review and interpretation to fill data gaps and create analytical schedules such as ratios, allocations, and activity splits to support filing positions.
– Compliance, guidance, and delivery under deadlines.
– Interpret CRA legislation and follow internal program guidance while maintaining audit-ready documentation.
– Manage priorities independently and deliver quality outputs under tight timelines.

Qualifications:

– Minimum 5 years and up to 8 years of relevant work experience.
– Strong tax and compliance interpretation skills with the ability to apply legislation to real-world project data.
– Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities with experience reviewing large data sets and identifying inconsistencies.
– Strong document management, record-keeping, and audit readiness practices.
– Experience with workflow automation, systems, and process improvement tools.
– Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across all levels.
– Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver under pressure with strong attention to detail.
– Experience with standard tools such as Power BI, SharePoint, and related systems is required.
– CPA designation or progress toward completion or equivalent financial training is considered an asset.
