Hays has partnered with a reputable developer out of Toronto, Ontario who has built many residential communities and towers across the Greater Toronto Area for over four decades. They have been awarded for many of these communities and have earned a strong reputation in the industry. They work with other owners on the construction management side to bring their visions to life. The current role is for a Project Manager to come aboard and help with the construction of rental buildings in the GTA.
Your new role
The Project Manager will report to the VP of Construction Project Management and will manage their first project in the Greater Toronto Area, a high-rise rental building scheduled to start later this year. They will manage all aspects of pre-construction project work, manage consultants regarding scop of services, manage architects and consultant design schedules and drive the working drawing process to ensure a well coordinated set of construction drawings are delivered while maintaining budget constraints and the overall construction schedule. They will manage the project and ensure that it is built according to approved plans, specs, shop drawings and aligned with building code and quality standards. They will lead project meetings with both internal and external stakeholders to monitor and support the project’s ongoing progression. Finally, they will maintain, track and report all financial aspects of the project, including forecasts and billings.
What you’ll need to succeed
The successful Project Manager candidate will have 7 years of related work experience as a Project Manager, focused on high-rise construction projects. They will have site experience in managing trade coordination, site supervision, etc. They will have completed post-secondary training in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline. They will have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and written, to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders. Finally, they will be capable of anticipating constructability issues in moderate to complex situations and creating new solutions in the construction plan and schedule. They will be a strong negotiator and have the ability to influence and persuade others to reach consensus.
What you’ll get in return
The successful candidate will receive a base salary of $140,000 – $180,000 dependent on experience. Bonus, benefits, vacation and more are included!
