Hiring: Senior Financial Analyst (Team Lead) – Edmonton (Hybrid)
We are seeking a finance professional with leadership skills and a strong understanding of project cost structures for the role of Senior Financial Analyst. This position involves leading a technical accounting team and ensuring financial integrity for a major infrastructure department.
In this pivotal role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for complex financial questions, process improvements, and stakeholder liaison.
Duration: ASAP – June 19, 2026 (with potential for extension)
Location: Edmonton, AB (Hybrid: 2 days in-office at Edmonton Tower / 3 days remote)
Key Responsibilities:
– Lead & Supervise: Manage a team of technical staff, allocate resources based on business priorities, and foster a service-based team environment.
– Financial Integrity: Oversee project cost structures, financial transactions, and procurement processes to ensure compliance with established policies.
– Problem Solve: Act as the “go-to” for resolving complex payment or commitment issues and respond to high-level financial inquiries.
– Drive Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and collaborate with Program Managers to develop and implement process improvements.
– Stakeholder Management: Liaise across various branches to ensure seamless financial operations for large-scale infrastructure projects.
Qualifications:
– Education: University Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
– Experience: At least 3 years of progressively responsible accounting/financial experience, including project management.
– Leadership: Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in a similar organizational environment.
– Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial controls, and procurement principles. Proficiency in Google Apps is a must.
– Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a team and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
