Job Overview

The Project Leader is responsible for leading the successful execution of nuclear projects by maintaining a strong field presence and fostering collaborative relationships with a diverse range of trades, contractors, and engineering disciplines.
This role is ideal for an experienced leader who thrives in the field, excels at hands-on problem-solving, and is committed to upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
As the primary point of contact between field teams and project management, the Project Leader ensures clear communication, effective coordination, and timely resolution of issues to keep projects on track.
The role requires monitoring progress, managing resources, and ensuring all activities align with project objectives and nuclear industry standards.
In addition to driving project performance, the Project Leader champions a culture of safety and continuous improvement, promoting best practices and innovative solutions.
The role also includes mentoring and developing junior staff, sharing expertise in nuclear project execution, and supporting ongoing training initiatives.
Extensive experience in nuclear projects, strong interpersonal skills, and a proactive, relationship‑focused leadership style are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Nuclear, or related technical field) or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
A technical diploma in a related field such as Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or Nuclear Technology may be considered with significant relevant experience.
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility is preferred, though experienced technologists with strong project backgrounds may also be considered.
Project Management certification (e.g., PMP) is highly desirable.
Demonstrated understanding of nuclear safety standards, regulatory requirements, and field execution practices.
Extensive experience in technical, construction, or operational roles within nuclear or other highly regulated industries.
Specialized training in nuclear safety, quality assurance, or radiation protection is considered an asset.
