Job Overview
– Be responsible for supervising a section of professional and technical staff engaged in project modification and site maintenance activities within a multi‑unit nuclear generating facility.
– Provide leadership in project management, including design, cost, schedule, quality, material control, and contract work, while ensuring optimization of project implementation and participation in strategic planning, budgeting, and training programs.
– Plan, organize, schedule, and coordinate staff work; assign tasks; provide instructions; check work for quality and productivity; and develop work methods to support operational excellence.
– Make effective recommendations regarding training, transfers, promotions, selection, and coaching, while conducting performance appraisal interviews and submitting written evaluations for review and approval.
– Define project objectives, scope, estimates, schedules, work plans, and resource requirements, integrating the efforts of all stakeholders contributing to project execution.
– Coordinate and implement technical work and initiate required approvals to support facility operations and maintenance, while identifying potential issues and opportunities in assigned systems.
– Review proposals from internal and external sources, discuss revisions with originators, recommend disposition to the Supervisor, and forward approved proposals to the appropriate authority.
– Execute technical surveillance programs, ensure installations meet specified requirements, and participate in training programs to enhance knowledge of systems, equipment, and departmental procedures.
– Lead the application of quality principles, contribute to annual budget preparation, provide cost estimates, monitor project costs, investigate variances, and assist in financial justification for project funding.
Qualifications
– Nuclear security clearance in good standing.
– 10+ years of relevant work experience (including 3+ years as a Project Manager).
– Experienced in project management tools and methods.
– Proven experience supervising project or engineering staff, with excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with vendors and stakeholders.
– Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
