Hiring: Senior Applications Architect – IT Healthcare experience required
Location: Toronto, Onsite (5 days per week in office)
Duration: April 1, 2026 – March 31, 2027
Hourly Rate: $95/hour – $120/hour (depending on skills and experience)
Client: Public Sector – Healthcare
Deliverables:
MORE Patient identification scanning and data capture
MORE Order management – Manifest Creation
MORE Order management – Status changes
MORE Order management – Order repetition
MORE Results management – Results retrieval and reprint
MORE – User driven enhancements
Notification – Front end design for data capture
Notification – Front end design for patient authentication
Notification – Back end design for subscription storage
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum 6 to 8 years of experience designing and developing applications within electronic health-related projects, ideally with experience deploying clinical software systems
Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience with REDIS, NODEJS, Handelbars and OAUTH
Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience working with Laboratory Information Systems (LISs) deployed within the province of Ontario
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, and strong stakeholder engagement skills
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
College/University undergraduate degree in Health, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related discipline from a recognized institution or equivalent experience
Knowledge Laboratory Information System (LISs) and other Healthcare Information Systems used throughout the province of Ontario
Proven track record working with health care professionals, direct clinical data experience or experience working with clinicians
Knowledge of integrated networking technologies, mainframe, midrange server, enterprise storage and SAN, and personal computer system technologies
Knowledge of related best practices, OPS directory/messaging standards, standard facilities infrastructure/architecture management, facility service delivery processes, infrastructures policies, procedures and direction, cost models and procurement processes
Ability to gather client business requirements, corporate I&IT information mandates, client information technology strategic plans, environment and standards
Ability to participate in the development of solutions and provide advice on short/long-term solution development activities
Knowledge of leading-edge technologies design criteria, security and recovery procedures, preparation of technical specifications for installation, testing and performance of integrated, multi-services systems; assess performance and capacity of existing system making recommendations for improving performance and develop technical documentation
Experience planning, migrating, implementing and sustaining large complex system development projects
Experience designing and developing large, complex, highly available, mission critical server applications
Experience with systems evaluation to assess conditions, technical performance and capacity of existing systems and determine need and feasibility of expansion, renovation or replacement
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and negotiation skills, teamwork skills
Working knowledge of privacy policies and legislative processes – Health Protection and Promotion Act (HPPA), Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) and Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and associated Health Information Custodian (HIC) requirements
