Risk/Compliance Specialist – Senior (2 Positions Available)
Location: Hybrid, Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Type: Contract
Compensation: $40 to $85 per hour

About the Role
Our client is seeking two experienced Senior Risk/Compliance Specialists to join our client’s team on a hybrid basis (3 days onsite / 2 days remote) in Toronto.
You’ll play a critical role in coordinating and performing risk assessments, analyzing complex data, and providing strategic recommendations to management and executive teams.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and perform comprehensive risk assessments across various inputs and business areas
Analyze data from multiple sources to identify, assess, and remediate risks
Interpret policies, legislation, and compliance standards to deliver actionable insights
Provide expert advice to management and executives on risk management and compliance strategies
Support internal control framework implementation, scoping, and mapping activities
Conduct gap analyses and develop remediation and control design recommendations
Required Qualifications / Must Haves
7+ years of experience with internal control frameworks and control mappings
7+ years of experience with technical concepts, including logical access control, agile development processes, and secure coding principles
7+ years of experience in gap analysis, remediation, control design, and risk assessments
Public Sector experience is mandatory
General Skills
Strong understanding of internal control frameworks and compliance processes
Proven ability to interpret standards and translate them into actionable implementation steps
Solid knowledge of information security, privacy, and network security principles
Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
Desirable Skills
Hands-on experience with GRC (Governance, Risk, Compliance) tools
Familiarity with security architecture and secure development practices
