SRE – Email Infrastructure (Exchange)

We are looking for an SRE – Email Infrastructure (Exchange) for an initial 12-month contract, with the possibility of extension or a permanent full-time position. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring one day of work from home and four days onsite in Burnaby, BC. The target start date is April 1st.

The SRE will need to have strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Exchange and be comfortable working in production environments. This is an operational role, not advisory.

Core Responsibilities include:
– Supporting and operating hybrid Exchange environments (On-prem + O365 carve-outs)
– Managing Exchange DAGs, High Availability, mail flow, and troubleshooting
– Ensuring email security and protocols (SMTP, SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
– Participating in on-call rotation
– Collaborating closely with Email Ops and SRE teams
– Maintaining strong documentation and operational discipline

Must-Have Skills:
– Hands-on Microsoft Exchange experience (on-prem required)
– Experience with Exchange DAGs and High Availability
– Proficiency in email protocols and mail flow troubleshooting
– Comfort working in production and on-call environments
– Clear communication and documentation habits

Nice-to-Have Skills:
– Experience with hybrid Exchange (Exchange Online + On-Prem)
– Exposure to Linux
– Familiarity with Fortinet tools (FortiMail / FortiGate)
– Skills in automation or scripting (PowerShell, Python, Ansible)
– Public cloud exposure (Azure / AWS / GCP)
