Location and Work Type

Hybrid – 1 day per week in our downtown Toronto office.

Role Description

This is a full-time Hybrid position for a DevOps Engineer to join as a founding member of our infrastructure team. You’ll work closely with developers to improve deployment pipelines, manage cloud infrastructure, and implement monitoring and reliability practices. This is a hands-on role where you’ll help shape our DevOps culture and processes as we scale.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and AWS CDK.
Migrate current infrastructure definitions from AWS CDK to Terraform.
Manage infrastructure-as-code deployments and optimize for reliability and cost.
Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions (migrating from NetData to Prometheus/Grafana).
Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot deployment and environment issues.
Containerize applications and manage orchestration using Docker, AWS ECS.
Ensure security best practices across infrastructure and pipelines.
Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing within the team.
 

Required Qualifications

3–5 years of experience in a DevOps or related role.
Strong experience with AWS services and infrastructure-as-code (preferably CDK).
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools, ideally GitHub Actions and Terraform.
Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, or similar).
Solid scripting skills, preferably in Python, bash, or JavaScript.
Understanding of networking, security, and cloud cost optimization.
Ability to work in a hybrid environment and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
 

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

Experience in a startup or fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of e-commerce or SaaS platforms.
Familiarity with NetData or migration projects to Prometheus/Grafana.
Exposure to automated testing within CI/CD pipelines.
Basic understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements in cloud environments.
Proficiency with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm).

Salary Range for this Role is $130,000 – $160,000 CAD
