Some of what you will do:

The Technical Product Owner supports complex HR and Finance systems initiatives across Staples Canada and owns selected finance applications, including Esker, AP Workflow, and Axonify, ensuring stability, optimization, and alignment with business needs. Reporting to the Manager, Corporate System, this role bridges business stakeholders, IT, and vendors to ensure requirements are clearly documented, traceable, and delivered through standard IT delivery processes. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, a strong critical thinker, and a fast learner with experience delivering complex enterprise projects.

Specifically, You Will

 

Act as a primary liaison between HR, Finance, IT, and vendors for assigned initiatives.
Develop and maintain high-quality Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) using established standards.
Create current-state and future-state process flow diagrams to support solution design and stakeholder alignment.
Create data mapping documentation to support integrations, including source-to-target mappings and data validation rules.
Collaborate with Integration, Middleware, and Architecture teams to support reliable data flow and shared understanding of system impacts.
Lead business stakeholders through structured decision-making and requirement sign-off processes.
Drive accountability across stakeholders and escalate when risks or decision delays threaten delivery.

Some Of What You Need

 

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Information Systems.
5+ years of experience in business analysis, systems delivery, or product-related roles.
Demonstrated experience supporting large, complex enterprise projects with multiple stakeholders and integrations.
Strong experience producing BRDs, process flows, traceability matrix, and UAT-related documentation.
Ability to learn new systems quickly and understand end-to-end process and data impacts.
Understanding of system integrations, data flows, and enterprise IT concepts.
Proficiency with Microsoft products (e.g. Excel, Powerpoint, Word)
Familiarity with Smartsheet, Jira and diagramming tools (Visio/Lucidchart) is an asset.
