General Ledger Accountant

We’re hiring: General Ledger Accountant – Ottawa (FT-Onsite) Join a mission driven non-profit community health organization in the Ottawa area on a 6 month contract. This role will support a busy finance team during a critical year-end audit period. Your work will directly support financial accuracy, audit readiness, and accountability across multiple programs, helping ensure vital community services remain well-supported and compliant. ✨ Highlights: – Fully onsite – (Ottawa). – Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and recurring adjustments with proper documentation. – Perform detailed general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies. – Reconcile program and project financial activity to the general ledger, ensuring accuracy across multiple funded accounts. – 6 month contract position. ✅ Requirements: – 2–3+ years of progressive experience in general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close. – Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in Accounting is required. – Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, journal entries, and GAAP principles. – Hands-on experience with Sage 300 or a comparable ERP system. – Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, and lookup functions.
